Each dish is cooked to order using the finest fresh ingredients. As all our dishes are freshly prepared a slight delay is sometimes inevitable when busy. Your understanding will be appreciated. Dishes can also be made to your exact requirements meeting a delicate appetite or dietary needs. The restaurant also does take-away meals. Order your food by phone and save time. A special banquet night is also held every Wednesday. For just £9.95 per person diners can choose from the delicious banquet menu offering a sumptuous spread of spicy delights. Also try our house wine at a special banquet price for the night. The restaurant is also the first in the area to have been awarded a five star rating by environmental health officers. This award means the restaurant's food hygiene, preparation, storage and cleaning standards have been recognised as excellent by officers from Sedgemoor District Council. Restaurateur, Anwar Hussain, said: "We are delighted as we are the first place in Cheddar to have five stars." The new star rating system came into force at the start of the year with the aim of giving members of the public a clear understanding of the cleanliness of businesses that make food. The restaurant opened in 1994 and has built a loyal customer base built on reputation alone. In this time the family has held numerous events to raise money for charities and local organisations. The last event was held in March when they raised £250 by serving 44 hungry diners to raise money for Axbridge First School’s Parent teacher Association. The funds raised helped to pay for upcoming projects including workshops from a theatre group and bus costs for future school trips. Anwar Hussain said: "It was a really great – half of our charges for the evening go straight to the charity. It’s nice for people to come and visit, and these nights have been really popular in the past. When we did one for the tsunami we raised more than £3,400. For the Bangladesh cyclon appeal we rased £1200 in November 2007, Cheddar first school PTA we rased £260 for a bookcase and many more events were held in the past and we welcome any charities and organisations for their needs."
